why u endorzes taht seriez it iz no good!

The third issue should be done very, very shortly. Everything’s finished but the Joe Hill interview, and while that’ll take a little bit of time (thanks to SOMEBODY talking all the time, LUCIEN), once that’s done, we’re shiny. So get ready to make order-time.

JOE HILL? I love this guy. I just read one of his shorts, “Thumb Print”. Excellent stuff!!

I’m off the wall about Joe Hill. His novel, Heart Shaped Box, was one of the best books I’ve ever read. He also had a short story in the Year’s Best Fantasy & Horror of 2006, “My Father’s Mask” which was also brilliant.

I love the fact someone like Joe Hill has great praise for the small press.

Last month I received my copy of Crimspree, - featuring an early story of mine - and within the pages was an interview with Stephen King. He had such high praise for the smaller magazines it was touching.

I guess everyone starts there, and these two guys have never forgotten.

Steve King and Joe Hill are both powerful, powerful writers with amazing minds who are, for all that, a couple of guys who would be happy wearing jeans and a t-shirt, eating fried chicken, and playing guitar. I think it flows from that attitude that they remember small presses as where they came from and never quite forget.

Love ‘em both to death. But not literally. I hope.

Still wondering if this is the Lucien of Phoenix who was a friend of my late brother, Eric Johnson?
